ABOUT CONFERENCE

The Huntington’s Disease Society of India (HDSI) is proud to host the HDSI International Conference, a gathering of global experts, researchers, clinicians, patients, caregivers, and policymakers dedicated to advancing the understanding, treatment, and care of Huntington’s Disease (HD).

The Huntington’s Disease Society of India (HDSI) held its 1st Edition of the International Conference on August 16 and 17, 2019, at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in Bengaluru. This event marked a significant milestone in the organization’s mission to support individuals affected by Huntington’s Disease (HD) in India.

With the theme, “Advancing Science and Care: Unified Strategies for Huntington’s Disease,” this two-day conference aims to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and holistic patient care, fostering a collaborative environment where innovation meets compassion.

The conference program will spotlight research-centric discussions, featuring breakthroughs in genetic research, therapeutic advancements, and neuroprotective strategies, culminating in a dynamic panel discussion on translating research into actionable solutions. We will also discuss patient-centered care, addressing the needs of HD patients and caregivers. Discussions between policymakers and healthcare professionals will help lay groundwork for potential national strategies for access to comprehensive treatments and create sustainable healthcare models for Huntington’s Disease.

Together, we aim to build a future where science, care, and advocacy converge to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by Huntington’s Disease. We want this conference to serve as a catalyst for meaningful change and be a testament to the power of unified action in overcoming challenges.

Join us in this mission to create a better tomorrow for the Huntington’s Disease community.

PROGRAM

The two-day program will cover advances in research, clinical settings, patient care and present policy makers and government representatives with proposals on multidisciplinary care clinics for improvement in the lives of HD patients. We will talk about the importance of early interventions to delay disease onset but also mental health support for HD patients and caregivers. In between these sessions we will also hear from patients and caregivers. Details on the sessions across both days are coming soon.
